6 Tips to Dress Your Family for Photos
Family portraits are such an incredible keepsake to hang onto for years to come, but deciding what everyone should wear can be a source of stress for parents. Check out these Bella Baby Photography tips to love the results of your next photo session.
Coordinate Colors
Rather than having the family wear matching clothing, select two or three colors first and then choose everyone’s outfits based on coordinating colors.
Consider Your Decor
If you plan to display the photos in your home, it’s a good idea to take your home’s style into account. When you’re choosing colors, pick those that will complement your decor.
Avoid “All-Over” Colors
Sometimes parents choose all-black or all-white clothing for their family photos, but this can negatively impact the outcome of your portraits by losing detail.
Add Accessories
Accessories, such as jewelry, hats, sunglasses and ties, can all be used to add interest and action in your portraits, so go ahead and have them available.
Choose Texture
You can add visual interest and avoid distortion by choosing clothing with contrasting textures over clothing with competing patterns.
Contrast Background
Remember to think about the background where your photos will take place. While it’s a good idea to coordinate with your background, matching it can be problematic for the finished image.
